The I.T. Department evaluates, designs, implements and enhances automated information systems. Greater emphasis is being placed on automated data communications systems in order to insure that various County, Court and Government agencies accurately store, retrieve and update vital information.

The use of I.T. resources allows for better County and Court staff utilization because computers perform the more time consuming and tedious jobs faster and more efficiently. The focus of I.T. has shifted over the years from developing isolated systems for individual County Departments to integrating these systems via a network of PCs.

This change of direction ensures timely and accurate access to all County and Court data. Emphasis has been placed on evaluating and purchasing computers for many County and Court departments. These PCs are tied together in one large network in order to allow E-Mail, Word Processing, and Internet Access throughout the county complex.

New systems being investigated or implemented are Imaging and Assessment information (maps, photographs and data retrieval).

The I.T. Department is located on the Second Floor of the Government Center Building and may be reached at (610) 891-4675.
