The Delaware County Planning Department’s mission is to promote the sound development and redevelopment of the County through the application of contemporary planning principles and smart growth concepts, while maintaining and enhancing the cultural, economic, and environmental livability of the County. The future of Delaware County and our municipalities is critically important, and we hope to provide resources to support a bright future. We are guided in this mission by Delaware County 2035, the County’s Comprehensive Plan. The Delaware County Planning Department conducts programs and initiatives to assist municipalities with sound planning practices. Delaware County Planning Department staff also support the Delaware County Planning Commission by managing the development review process and presenting their reviews to the Delaware County Planning Commission at its monthly meetings, where official recommendations are made.
