Salary: $21.05 hourly
Under the general direction of the President Judge and Director and direct supervision of the Domestic Relations Court Supervisor, the Domestic Relations Court Unit's responsibility is to attend court to assist Judges and Hearing Officers; and to process court orders rendered at hearings.
Prepares cases for assigned days in court by obtaining missing/additional case information and documents; checks prison transport and interpreters are arranged when necessary; instructs clients regarding telephone conferences.
Provides Judges and Masters with additional case-related information during hearings.
Ensures court orders are complete and accurate.
Completes bench warrants accurately and forwards to bench warrant unit.
Scans orders and documents from the court into the document imaging system.
Insures that commitment, release, and detainer orders are e-mailed to prison and confirms receipt.
Enters new/modified court orders and stipulations into the child support system; makes financial adjustments; reschedules cases when ordered.
Prepares for and attends right to detain (72 hour) hearings.
Provides case information and dispositions to supervisor for statistical reports.
Responsible to review the pending modification report generated by the child support enforcement system.
Reviews assigned mail alerts where cases require additional information or action.
Receives, processes and prepares information for PA Superior Court appeals.
Sends court orders to parties as required by law.
Assists attorneys/clients with court-related requests.
Assists in certifying orders.
Performs other related duties as required.
Associates’ Degree preferred or high school diploma (GED) and three (3) years of experience in the Domestic Relations Department with a demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of department and court procedures. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Detail-oriented with analytical ability and research skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasked environment independently. Superior organizational skills with the capability to prioritize work.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs in order to carry files and pull file carts
Ability to function in highly stressful situations
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
