Summary

The Juvenile Court Services Scanner is responsible for scanning and managing court documents, ensuring accurate preparation, and maintaining the integrity of records within the case management system.


Essential Duties

Scans court documents and external correspondence into the case management system.

Prepares incoming documents for scanning, ensuring that they are sorted, and unnecessary items are discarded.

Operates various scanning devices, printers, and copiers, including performing basic troubleshooting.

Prepares original records for archiving, including packaging for off-site storage.

Research case files when necessary.

Substitutes for the receptionist as directed.

Performs other related duties as required.


Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) years of general office experience.

Proficient in Windows and PC functionality.

Excellent telephone and communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with the public.

Good organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong typing skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of court processes is preferred.


Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Knowledge of court processes and legal documentation.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience in record-keeping and document management.


Computer Skills

Proficiency in Windows operating systems and PC functionality.

Experience with document management and scanning software.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Basic troubleshooting for scanning devices and printers.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend at the waist, and talk or hear. Occasionally, the employee will need to reach or work with arms above shoulder height, kneel, stoop, crouch or squat, crawl, climb stairs, twist or rotate at the waist while working; push, lift or carry items.


Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in an office setting.
