Summary

The Delaware County Prison Administration is responsible for working with the Geo Group (current administrators) and the County to successfully run the day-to-day operations at the George C. Hill facility. The Operations Manager will play a critical role on the project team tasked with evaluating and possibly implementing a de-privatization of the facility.


Essential Duties

Under the general direction of the Warden and the Executive Director, the Operations Manager will:

Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness and identifies opportunities for improvement

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates operational procedures

Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations

Ensures work environments are adequate and safe

Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost to achieve financial objectives

Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor operations for compliance

Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to staff

Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, facilities, IT and other County service departments to produce smoother processes

Work with management to determine vision and values

Maintains an ongoing dialogue and working relationship with staff from other departments to ensure needs and problems are quickly communicated, identified, and resolved

Performs all other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Requires at least 5 years of progressive operations management experience

Thorough understanding of project management and planning principles, best practices, and procedures

Basic understanding of budget creation and execution

Ability to build collaborative relationships with employees at all levels of the organization

Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

Residence Requirement: The County of Delaware has a residency requirement for employees. Anyone applying for this job must reside in Delaware County or be willing to move to the County within six months of starting employment.
