The Delaware County Housing Plan will establish a unified vision for the county’s housing needs.

The Housing Plan will be a long-range strategy to provide for adequate housing solutions for all citizens in Delaware County. The plan identifies existing conditions, opportunities, and recommendations related to the County’s housing stock. It will outline actions to be taken over the course of the next eighteen years that are in line with the broader goals of Delaware County 2035, the County’s comprehensive plan. This page will host information related to the creation of the Housing Plan.

Housing Plan Public Survey

As part of the development of the Housing Plan, the Planning Department gathered information on public preferences for housing in Delaware County through an online public survey. The survey was open from May 21, 2018 through August 3, 2018.

A total of 422 people from all over Delaware County completed the survey, sharing their opinions on the quality of housing in the County as well as their desires for future housing. Overall, 72% of respondents would stay in their current neighborhoods if they had a choice. The information gathered through the public survey will be incorporated into discussion of housing conditions and needs in the final plan.
