Released: September 17, 2020

September 17 drive-thru and walk-up testing for Delaware County residents and workers canceled

Please be aware that Delaware County is canceling the drive-thru and walk-up COVID-19 testing scheduled for Thursday, September 17, in Millbourne, due to low registration. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The next public COVID-19 test site is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, at the US Army Reserve Center in Upland.

We will also be hosting a flu clinic—in partnership with Rite Aid—next week at this same location. A separate press release with times and details will be released shortly.

About COVID-19 Testing

Testing is conducted by trained medical staff utilizing a nasal swab (PCR) test kit.

Testing is open to all residents 12 years of age and older and individuals who work in Delaware County who have COVID-19 symptoms or who have had a known exposure to someone with COVID-19 or are critical/essential workers. Critical and essential workforce—including first responders, healthcare system employees, grocery workers—and those at higher risk, including residents over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions, will be given priority.

Testing is available for both insured and uninsured individuals. There are no out-of-pocket expenses or co-pays for those with health insurance. Individuals are asked to bring their insurance card to the testing site. A prescription from a doctor is not required. Upon arrival, individuals will need to complete a registration form and a consent form. Masks/face coverings are required at the test site.

Test results typically take up to 5-7 business days and will be sent by mail. Please note that individuals have the option of receiving test results through an online portal hosted by HNL Lab Medicine. Individuals who elect to provide an email address will be able to create an online account on the MyHNLAccess portal at https://myhnlaccess.force.com/Patients/hnlloginpage where they can access their results. Individuals who test positive will also receive a call from the Chester County Health Department.

Individuals are asked to pre-register online at www.chesco.org/4562/delco-testing or by phone at (610) 891-6129; walk-up testing will also be available. Please note that in the event of inclement weather, testing may be canceled.

Additional public COVID-19 testing sites in Delaware County will be announced in the coming weeks.
