Presentations provided updates to major progress of County workforce in serving Delco residents
Delaware County, PA — On May 21st, members of the Delaware County Council and leadership team, including Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor and Executive Director Barbara O’Malley, delivered the 2025 State of the County presentation at the Llanerch Country Club in Havertown, PA. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session delivered by members of Council. Hosted by the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, the event provides Chamber members, business leaders, and members of the community the opportunity to learn about accomplishments, ongoing projects, and goals of County Council and County leadership. This year’s theme, “Fulfilling Our Promise”, focused on Council’s commitment to smartly investing in Delaware County and in building a better future with the 576,000 residents that call Delaware County home.
“We have a future that’s laid out before us, an opportunity to realize the promise of this moment and to fulfill the hopes our residents have,” said Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor. “We have a chance to build a better future for this county and to turn this place into what it truly can be: the best place in the world to live, work, and raise a family.”
The presentations discussed the ongoing closure of the former Crozer health system and the County’s response to aid residents in continuing to seek care while ensuring continued emergency services coverage and workforce development to assist former Crozer employees who are transitioning to new opportunities. Additional information was provided on the achievements of County row officers, the budget task force, Delaware County Health Department, the Fair Acres nursing home, Planning Department, infrastructure projects from the County’s Public Works department, Sustainability Department, Parks and Recreation, Housing Department, Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, and much more.
“The goals of this Council, and by extension, our county team, are nothing less than what is described…to build a better future, “ said Executive Director Barbara O’Malley. “There has been an enormous amount of work that has gone into that mission over the past year, and a great deal of progress that has already been made.”
