VOTING MACHINES DEPARTMENT

The Voting Machine Department is responsible for the storage, security, programming, testing, and delivery of all voting equipment and precinct supplies for the 428 Delaware County precincts, which are housed in more than 300 polling locations on Election Day. All potential changes in polling place locations are inspected to ensure polling place guidelines and compliance with the standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The Chief Custodian manages a call center on Election Day and dispatches roving technicians in different sectors of the County to check on precincts and/or to trouble-shoot voting equipment issues, replace any equipment or supplies and deliver any supplemental materials that might be needed on Election Day.

The official post-election Review Board process is conducted at the Voting Machine Warehouse overseen by the Chief Custodian of the Voting Machine Department. The Voting Machine Warehouse also retrieves, inventories and re-stocks voting equipment and election supplies between Elections.

The Voting Machine Department’s Mission Statement is very simple: The Voting Machines Warehouse shall take all actions necessary to assure polling places are equipped properly so that every qualified voter in Delaware County has the ability to vote.

The Voting Machines department is located at 403 East 24th Street in Chester, PA.
