The Delaware County Bureau of Elections has processed the majority of in-person votes and continues to process the record number of vote-by-mail ballots received and continues to receive for the November 2020 General Election.

As of late Wednesday afternoon, the total number of Delaware County ballots cast and recorded was 273,091, with over 178,000 in-person votes and over 94,000 mail-in or absentee votes received and uploaded to the State. Vote-by-mail ballots postmarked before 8:00p.m. on Election Day will continue to be counted until the 5:00p.m. November 6 deadline. Additionally, provisional ballots will be assessed and counted if a valid in-person or vote-by-mail ballot was not otherwise received and approved.

The Bureau of Elections has received over 113,000 vote-by-mail ballots. Approximately 7,000 were received on November 3. Delaware County Elections Bureau staff continue to scan in vote-by-mail ballots, which will then be canvassed, opened, inspected, and counted. The Bureau has been working with the Commonwealth all day to resolve irregularities in the Commonwealth’s SURE system that needs to be resolved before the relevant ballots can be canvassed and counted.

The Bureau is working on providing information on the County’s website indicating the percentage of the in-person votes reported. The Delaware County Cumulative Results Report has a “Precincts Reporting” field, which will be updated tonight. A precinct will be marked as reported when the County has uploaded 100% of its Election-Day data. Additionally, the Election Bureau will be updating the website to include the number of memory cards (V-Drives) from which they have uploaded data and the total number of memory cards they have to upload. A small number of memory cards are still in the process of being returned to the Bureau.

The Bureau will publish new data as it becomes available.
