Welcome to Delaware County's 3rd Annual Sustainability Conference

The Delaware County Office of Sustainability is hosting the 3rd Annual Delaware County Sustainability Conference on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Widener University.

For the third year in a row, Delaware County is aiming to inform and inspire! At the 2021 and 2022 conferences, speakers and panelists introduced topics such as climate change and environmental justice, explaining why they are important and how organizations are looking to the future. This year’s conference will continue to expand on these topics, focusing on Sustainability in Action: equipping participants with the tools they need to take action within their communities. Speakers will align with Sustain Delco: A Sustainability Plan for Delaware County (2023), touching on topics of climate resiliency, natural resources, energy and efficiencies, transportation, zero waste, and health and wellness.

The 2024 Conference will be free of charge, accessible by public transit and aim for zero waste. A complimentary lunch will have options for all, including vegan and allergen-free options. The event will bring together approximately 400 concerned citizens, experts, everyday sustainability heroes, scientists, community members, government officials, advocates, and, for the first time, high school students for an exciting day of networking, information sharing, and collaboration.

In addition to offering exciting Keynote and Plenary presentations and networking with exhibitors, the 2024 Conference will also incorporate break-out sessions for the first time! Break-out sessions will incorporate tracks for high school students, individuals, businesses, non-profits/organizations, and EAC/Municipalities allowing for deeper dives in content, increased interactivity among participants, and customizable schedules to ensure participants are gaining experience on topics relevant to their everyday lives.

We look forward to seeing you on May 30th as we work to Sustain Delco! Arrive early for a complimentary breakfast free of charge. Look for the full itinerary of speakers and panelists coming soon! #SustainDelco24
