Summary
This position will provide clerical support related to the fiscal administration of the overall Health Department and reports directly to the Administrator of Finance & Administrative Services.
Essential Duties
Support day-to-day operations including:
- Timekeeping
- Human resource support
- Procurement/purchasing
- Grant management
- Other assigned duties
- Occasional special projects
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- At least one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices
- Experience in a related field, direct work in accounting, or business administration preferred
- Strong understanding of Excel spreadsheets and formulas
- Demonstrated experience in fiscal support areas
- Experience with unique information systems a plus
- Strong competency in MS Office Word and Outlook
- A positive approach to problem-solving
- Good written and oral communication abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of persons
- Ability to maintain and handle confidential information
- Ability to follow protocol, procedures, and established guidelines
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances and needs
- A strong work ethic and ability to manage a demanding and changing workload
- Strong relationship-building skills
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to alternate between standing and sitting; climb; crawl; crouch or stoop; drive; perform fine and gross motor manipulation; hear; use a keyboard; kneel; use near visual acuity; sit; speak; and walk or stand.
