COSA and Radnor Township Partnering to Host Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program Beginning April 14th
The Delaware County Office of Services for the Aging (COSA) is partnering with the Radnor Township Parks and Recreation Department, and the PA Department of Aging to host the nationally recognized Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease Program.
This program is for residents 60 and older who need relief from arthritis pain or just want to remain active.
Participants will meet in the Radnorshire Room at the Radnor Township Municipal Building (301 Iven Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087) and will walk on the Radnor Trail. The program will run once a week for six weeks on Tuesdays, from April 14 through May 19. All sessions run from 10 AM to 12 PM.
Participants will receive the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease Guidebook and will walk once a week as a group and at least two other times a week on their own. Participants will share and receive support from trained leaders and other walkers at weekly group meetings.
This evidence-based program is proven to reduce the pain of arthritis; increase balance, strength and walking pace; build confidence in one’s ability to be physically active; and improve overall health.
Program costs are covered by COSA, so the program is FREE, however class size is limited. Register by calling 610-688-5600 or emailing recreation@radnor.org. Participants are asked to provide their name, address, phone number and email address.
