News & Updates
| 11/17/2025 | - Act 45 of 2025 was signed by the Governor, thereby enacting the Fiscal Code changes for FY 2025/26. AOPC only learned very recently that as part of Act 45, the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fee, which provides funding for the payment of district attorney’s salaries pursuant to 42 Pa.C.S. § 3575(d), was increased from $2.50 to $3.50 and has also been expanded to apply to all summary traffic cases. The CJEA fee is part of the overall Judicial Computer Project/Access to Justice/Criminal Justice Enhancement/Office of Attorney General (JCP/ATJ/CJEA/OAG) surcharge.
As a result, the JCS/ATJ charge on some documents will increase from $40.25 to $41.25. The $1.00 fee increase has been noted on the fee schedule that can be found on our website. This change in fee will be EFFECTIVE 12/1/2025.
Documents affected: Deed Miscellaneous, Deed, Mortgage, Assignment of Mortgage, Satisfaction of Mortgage, Release of Mortgage - Recording requirement: A 1-inch top margin on all documents to be recorded to provide space for electronic stamping of recording information.
