Essential Duties

This position is responsible for assisting with the fiscal management of various Delaware County Human Services programs. Work also includes assisting fiscal personnel with revenue and expense accounts and provider identification in the computerized accounting system and Single Audit Supplement. As an Accountant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Audit Assistance: Help fiscal personnel prepare documents for external audits and perform internal program audits.
  • Contract Support: Participate in the development and monitoring of service contracts as well as the monitoring and auditing of contracted providers.
  • Expense Reviews: Assist with the reconciliation and monitoring of expenses, revenues, and accounts receivables, as well as the review of employee expenditure requests, vendor and provider invoices submitted for payment.
  • Report Preparation: Help fiscal personnel prepare reports for submission to multiple funding sources and prepare the Schedule of Existing Federal Awards.
  • Fiscal Compliance: Ensure all work performed and reviewed complies with contractual agreements, county procedures, and regulatory requirements.
     

Position Requirements

One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

  • This position requires Pennsylvania residency.
