Keep Delco Beautiful was formed in 2023 by the Delaware County Office of Sustainability, in affiliation with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, to serve as a local affiliate keeping our community clean and beautiful.
 

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, a state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc., has worked over the past 30 years with hundreds of thousands of volunteers to pick up over 152 million pounds of trash from roads, waterways, forests, and other community spaces to meet the shared vision of a clean and beautiful Pennsylvania.

To further support this mission at home, 20+ local organizations have formed a collaborative to encourage resource-sharing, event coordination, research, advocacy, and more to achieve our shared vision of a safe, clean, and sustainability Delaware County.

KEEP DELCO BEAUTIFUL GOALS

The Mission of Keep Delco Beautiful is to bring people together to empower Delaware County to keep our communities clean and beautiful. To do this, the following goals have been identified:

• Education and Awareness
  Increase community awareness and education surrounding litter abatement, illegal dumping, the waste stream, recycling, difficult to dispose of materials, and watershed health.
• Research and Advocacy
  Increasing understanding about waste and beautification needs in Delaware County through increased citizen-science opportunities, data collection, and research, and advocate for change on a local level.
• Consortium and Collaboration
  Supporting and empowering existing community beautification organizations through collaboration, technical assistance, and resource sharing.
• Zero Waste Solutions and Beautification
  Participating in boots-on-the-ground initiatives to reduce waste from local communities and increasing community beautification.

PROJECTS

Library Litter Kits – As of July 29th, 2026, residents can borrow a "Team Up to Clean Up" litter kit from any Delaware County Libraries’ location—just like checking out a book. Available to anyone with a Delaware County Libraries’ card, these kits provide an easy way for residents to earn volunteer hours, take pride in their neighborhoods, and become part of the solution to litter. “Take Action” Newsletter – Sign up for our bi-monthly email newsletter containing volunteer and workshop opportunities if you’re interested in being a part of Keep Delco Beautiful’s work! Do you need volunteer hours or want to get involved in beautification work? If so, the newsletter is a great fit for you, with opportunities ranging from clean-ups and tree plantings to workshops. Sign up below!

Upcoming Project – Communal Clean Up Supply Closet – This resource will be available for the partner organizations of Keep Delco Beautiful and for any other organization hosting a clean-up in Delaware County. Need more grabbers and cones, as well as some specialized items like “Litter Crew Ahead” signs or tents? We will have you covered at our Smedley Park location.
