Peter was appointed to the Delaware County Planning Commission in 2021.

Peter is a lifelong resident of Delaware County and was raised and educated in the City of Chester.  He is a graduate of Chester High School.

Peter was formerly the Planning Director/ Zoning Officer for the City of Chester. Before his employment with the City of Chester, he served as the Community Program Coordinator for State Representative Thaddeus Kirkland’s Chester District Office. In that capacity, his responsibilities included planning and organizing community meetings and forums on behalf of the State Representative which included the annual “Across Colors Cultural Festival”, and the annual Senior Christmas luncheon.

Retirement after 17 years in Commercial Banking opened the door to a new career in Social Service and Community Development.  Peter is the Founding Member, Treasurer, and Executive Director of the Asbury Social Outreach Center, Inc. in Chester, a non-profit social service organization created to empower Chester residents economically, socially, and educationally.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and is the FY2021 Chairman of the DVRPC’s Regional Technical Committee.  Peter is a member of the Delaware County Coastal Zone Task Force, an at large member of the Yeadon Zoning Hearing Board,  a former member of the Chester Over town Revitalization Committee, and a former member of the Lansdowne/Yeadon Elm Street Neighborhood Advisory Committee. In 2018, Peter was appointed to serve as an officer on the Delaware Basin Regional Water Resources Committee by Governor Tom Wolf.

He is a member of Asbury A.M.E Church in Chester and is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity.

Peter earned a Master’s Degree in Community and Economic Development from Penn State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh.

He currently resides in Yeadon.

Brian was appointed to the Delaware County Planning Commission in 2019.

Brian has a history of public service. He has been a resident of Glenolden Borough for 37 years where he has served on the Interboro School Board as President. He has served at the Glenolden Youth Club for over 10 years and is a past board President. He has also held appointments to the Delaware County Animal Protection board. Brian was a founding member of the Eastern Delaware County Storm Water Collaborative, where he currently serves as Vice President and as the Treasurer to the Pollution Reduction Plan.

Brian is currently the Borough Manager of Glenolden and previously the Manager of Sharon Hill Borough. He has served as Health Officer to multiple municipalities in Delaware County. Brian is a UCC Certified Building Code Official and a Qualified Storm Water Inspector. 

He is married with two sons and believes Delaware County is a great place to raise a family.

Mr. Ferguson was appointed to the Planning Commission in September 2023, representing District 6 in the western portion of the County. He served in the Navy from 1988-1992 in Operation Desert Storm and was later employed at Boeing. He is a member of Steamfitters Local 420.

Charlie is a Master Watershed Steward through Penn State Extension, and a citizen scientist for the Darby Creek Community Science Monitoring Program. He is currently studying to be a Master Well Owner Network volunteer as well as continuing his education in the Master Watershed program

Claudia was nominated and began serving on the Delaware County Planning Commission in 2019. She is an architect and principal in charge of CuetoKEARNEY Design, which was founded in 2004 and is located in Swarthmore. She has been practicing architecture for over 35 years with an emphasis on college and university work. She has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Catholic University in Washington D.C. and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.

Previously, she has served on the Board of Directors AIA Philadelphia and is a current member of the Carpenter’s Company of Philadelphia. A registered architect in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, she is also a certified member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and Eastern Minority Supplier (MBE).

She and her husband have lived in Delaware County for over 20 years where they raised their two children together. During that time, she served on the board of the Swarthmore Zoning Hearing Board for five years, her last year as chair.

She understands the great effect that codes can have on people and community; architects deal not only with buildings but with the fabric of the community where a building project is located. Context is always a serious consideration and plays a major role in the success of a project.

Her personal experience, as well as her professional experience as an architect, makes her uniquely qualified for membership on the Planning Commission.

Mr. Petrucci was appointed and began his volunteer service with the Delaware County Planning Commission in early 2020 and represents Region 5, consisting of Media and Rose Valley boroughs, Edgemont, Middletown, Nether Providence, and Upper Providence townships.

Since early 2015, Mr. Petrucci has also served as a member of the Media Borough Planning Commission and currently serves as their Secretary. Mr. Petrucci and his family have happily resided in Media Borough for many years with two children currently enrolled in Rose Tree Media School District. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and visiting many of the outdoor spaces and parks throughout the County as well as spending time with his family and friends and volunteering at school and in his local community.

A civil engineering graduate of the University of Delaware, he is currently a licensed professional engineer in the state of Pennsylvania, a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer, and a certified Road Safety Professional with the Transportation Professional Certification Board, Inc. Mr. Petrucci has roughly 20 years of transportation engineering experience in consulting and government while specializing in roadway and intersection design and safety. Dave is passionate about road safety and understanding the important linkages between sound land use decisions, and potential implications that new and infill development could have on the traveling public.

Delaware County’s Open Space, Recreation, and Greenway Plan examines the open space policies and trends identified in Delaware County 2035.

The Open Space, Recreation, and Greenway Plan serves as a guide and resource for countywide, multi-municipal, and municipal open space planning efforts. It examines open space policies and trends identified in the Delaware County 2035 Land Use Framework Plan, and makes recommendations with regard to open space, recreation, and greenway needs and opportunities specific to the County.

To integrate all of the information, analysis, and goals of this plan into a manageable format, the Open Space, Recreation, and Greenway Plan was organized into volumes:

Volume I: Open Space and Recreation Plan

Volume I provides a complete review of municipal, county, state, and federal open space within Delaware County. It includes an inventory of existing open spaces and natural resources, analysis of open space and recreational needs and opportunities, and an overview of implementation methods for municipalities and the County to consider.

Volume II: Countywide Greenway Plan

Volume II is Delaware County’s first ever countywide greenway plan. It identifies a Primary Trail Network which connects recreational and cultural hubs via trails, as well as conservation greenways along stream corridors.

Volume III: County Parks and Recreation

Volume III specifically examines the Delaware County Parks and Recreation system, and includes long range site development drawings and accompanying narratives for several of the major County parks.

Natural Heritage Inventory

Abstract: The Delaware County Natural Heritage Inventory (NHI) was developed for the County by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Its purpose is to inform residents and local decision makers about the unique plants, animals, and habitats that are found throughout Delaware County.

Maintaining Your Historic Home A Practical Guide for Homeowners

Abstract: This guide functions as an instruction manual for the maintenance, repair and preservation of historic homes, and is targeted toward homeowners. The information within is applicable to all historic residential structures, not only those located in Delaware County. The guide is divided into six sections, each of which tackles specific aspects of historic home maintenance. They are: Roofs, Chimneys, and Gutter Systems; Walls and Foundations; Windows and Doors; Porches and Awnings; Landscapes; and Sustainability and Energy Efficiency. The document also outlines the material and structural differences between historic houses and modern houses, and the particular issues that are common to older homes.

The Delaware County Transportation Plan establishes a unified vision for the county’s transportation network.

The Transportation Plan outlines a long-range strategy for the movement of people and goods in Delaware County. By examining existing conditions and emerging trends, the plan highlights opportunities to improve, expand, and integrate the county’s transportation network. The plan emphasizes the importance of making the county’s transportation more multimodal to provide safe, efficient, and reliable transportation for all users. It is a component of Delaware County 2035, the County’s comprehensive plan.

John was appointed to the Delaware County Planning Commission in January 2019.

John has a long history of public service. He has been a resident of Concord Township for the past 21 years where he has served on the Township Planning commission, and is now in his third term on the Township Council, presently serving as Vice President. He also held appointments to the Board of View and COSA Advisory Council in Delaware County.

After serving in the Army during the Vietnam era, he graduated from Drexel University in Civil Engineering. He worked at Pennoni Associates for 32 years, retiring as Vice President. During his time there, he served as Municipal Engineer for 17 municipalities in Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties and he is a licensed Professional Engineer in two states. 

John has received numerous awards in Engineering from Drexel University and Professional Societies culminating with Engineer of the Year in Delaware County in 1997.

In addition to his township duties he helps with the management of his son’s fitness business, and volunteers with AARP and Riddle Memorial Hospital.

John's hobbies are supporting the Philadelphia sports teams, and international travel. He is married with 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
